How do I sign up for a course?

Email me to book or to find out when you can join a course. Join a scheduled course.


When are the canoe lessons?

Midweek or weekends are available. Courses can be evening, weekdays, or on weekends. They range from 3hrs up to several days.


How much does a course cost?

Evening sessions (3hrs) are $95 plus tax.

Cost per person per day is $210 plus tax, minimum of two people for the course to run. Join a scheduled course.


Can I save money if I bring friends?

Yes, as the group organizer, you save 20% on your own cost, if you book as a group of 4 or more. Group booking.


Can I have a private course?

Yes, Cost is $395 per day plus tax. Book a private course.


Do you offer Paddle Canada certification courses?

Yes, by default all courses are “skills” courses only. But with prior discussion, I can set the course up so you can achieve the Paddle Canada appropriate certification.


Are you the kid that was in the Canoe in the “Path of the Paddle” videos?

Yes, that was a “little” while ago. I’ve since co-authored a book on canoeing, “Thrill of the Paddle” and created the Paddlepointer canoeing videos.


Payment

Preferred payment method is via etransfer, cash or cheque.


Refund, cancellations

Course fee is100% refundable up to three weeks before course date. For cancellation less than three weeks before course date, fee is 50% refundable. Re-scheduling is fine, and there is no penalty as long as rescheduling doesn’t become a habit.

In case of myself not being able to deliver the course 100% refund will apply. I reserve the right to cancel courses due to factors beyond my control ie: fluctuating water levels or insufficient signups for course date. If a particular course registration is low, I will make every effort to keep you informed of the course status 2 weeks prior to course date.


Where will the course be held?

Locations are chosen to be appropriate for your comfort level and the skills that we want to practice. Location will also depend on water level.


Waivers

You will be required to sign a Paddle Canada waiver before you participate in the course. Please read waiver before coming to the course

If the course is being billed to a third party ie: club, store, outfitter they will need to sign an indemnification agreement.

Will you teach a course at a location closer to us?

Yes, email me with your request and we’ll discuss options.
