Introduction Tandem Moving Water

Have some tandem flat water experience? This course introduces you to canoeing in white water. Learn the basic strokes, manoeuvres and necessary safety skills to venture into moving water. Strokes learned will include draws and prys, bracing, river J, cross bow draw. we’ll begin on flat water and progress to eddy turns and ferries.

Prerequisites: Be able to swim.

Intermediate Tandem Moving Water

This course reviews the foundation skills of tandem canoeing and introduces more complex skills and manoeuvres. Learn how fun it can be to work together as a team in whitewater. Learn the back ferry, an essential skill for canoe tripping on rivers.

Advanced Tandem Moving Water

In this Advanced Tandem Whitewater Canoe course you’ll learn to be able to deal with class III rapids and basic on the water rescues. Half the art of canoeing is to know what manoeuvres to do when, this is where you’ll be able to benefit from my years of canoeing experience.

Prerequisites: Be able to swim.

Equipment: Bring your own canoe, paddle, pfd, helmet, throwbag and personal gear including lunch and water.

What to expect: Paddling related activities from 9:30am to 4pm.  Flexible to meet your schedule, needs and weather conditions.

Minimum 2 participants, max. 8 participants
